The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Office of Acquisition (OA) is tasked to obtain Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) services to verify and validate that all products and systems developed for border control and security, comply with the CBP requirements and that program management of this service is performed in an effective and efficient manner. IV&V is a technical discipline of systems engineering. The purpose of IV&V is to help the developmental organization build quality into the system during the life cycle. IV&V processes provide an objective assessment of products and processes throughout the life cycle.
